Process Cooling

The fan is the core of process cooling system efficiency, safety and energy saving. It achieves efficient heat exchange, precise temperature control and energy consumption optimization through forced air flow. Its selection needs to comprehensively consider process characteristics (temperature, pressure, medium), environmental requirements (explosion-proof, corrosion-resistant) and energy efficiency goals.

 

Ventilation and Coling Fan

  1. Enhance heat exchange and improve cooling efficiency

 

  • Forced convection heat dissipation: The fan drives the air to flow through the heat exchanger, coil or reactor surface at a flow rate of 1.5-5 m/s, significantly improving the heat transfer coefficient (3-5 times higher than natural convection).
  • Uniform temperature control: Eliminate "hot spots" on the surface of the equipment (temperature difference > 10°C area) to prevent local overheating from causing material deformation or catalyst deactivation.

 

  1. Accurate control of process temperature

 

  • Dynamic speed regulation: The variable frequency fan (such as EC motor) adjusts the air volume (±10% accuracy) according to process requirements to maintain the reaction temperature within the set range (such as polymerization reaction requires temperature control of ±0.5°C).
  • Interlock protection: When the temperature sensor exceeds the limit alarm, the fan runs at full speed or triggers an emergency shutdown to ensure production safety.

 

  1. Energy saving and consumption reduction

 

  • Waste heat recovery: High-temperature exhaust gas (200-400°C) is introduced into the waste heat boiler through the fan to preheat process water or generate electricity (energy saving rate 15%-30%).
  • Utilization of natural cooling source: In winter, the refrigeration unit is turned off, and only the fan is used to introduce outdoor cold air to cool the circulating water (energy consumption is reduced by 70%).

 

  1. Environmental adaptation and safety

 

  • Explosion-proof design: Stainless steel fans are used in chemical explosion-proof areas (Ex d IIB T4) to prevent electric sparks from igniting VOCs.
  • Corrosion-resistant treatment: The pickling workshop uses fiberglass fans (resistant to pH 1-12), which have a lifespan 5 times longer than carbon steel.
