Series Overview

Series Overview

The newly launched GAF series contactors are a kind of compact and efficient DC circuit switching components. They are also the world's first block - structured contactors with a rated voltage of up to 1000V DC and a rated current of up to 2000A.
The GAF contactors expand the application range of the A/AF series contactors in DC circuits, raising the application voltage to 1000V DC and extending the rated current to 2000A, fully meeting the continuously growing application demands of customers.
The GAF contactors inherit many advantages of ABB A/AF contactors. They feature a modern and compact appearance design, adopt electronic coils with voltage, and have the characteristics of reliable operation, stable performance, and low coil power consumption. The GAF contactors comply with the IEC/cULus standards. They have the same external dimensions as the AF contactors of the same specification.
Powerful Power
  • The rated operating voltage is as high as 1000V DC (IEC)
  • Comply with UL508, with a rated operating voltage of 600V DC (cULus)
Flexible Application
  • Wide coil operating voltage range (e.g.: 100 - 250V AC/DC), few specifications, can cover all applications
  • GAF460...GAF2050 have PLC 24VDC/100mA input interfaces
Efficient and Energy - Saving
  • GAF adopts the same electronic coil technology as AF contactors, reducing coil power consumption. Compared with traditional contactors, its energy - saving efficiency in terms of holding power consumption is 5 - 10 times that of traditional ones, and it is stable and reliable.
  • Based on the proven technology of AF, it has been practically verified and is beyond doubt.
  • Insensitive to voltage drops. Even if the low voltage drops to 55% of the rated voltage value and a voltage drop of 20ms occurs, the contactor still remains in the suction state and does not release.
  • Wide voltage characteristics completely avoid the problems of contactor chattering and contact welding, enhancing the reliability of the contactor and prolonging its service life.
Quiet Operation
  • Whether the external power is AC or DC, the contactor coil works in a DC environment, eliminating the noise generated by the AC coil during operation, and is easy to use.
  • The external dimensions are the same as those of AF contactors of the same specification, with no obstacles in selection and installation.
  • The card - mounted accessories are universal with AF contactors.
