Series Overview

Series Overview

  • SIRIUS 3SB3 is a control device for front - panel mounting with rear wiring, available in both metal and plastic series.
  • The appearance design of SIRIUS is flat and streamline - shaped, making the entire control panel very coordinated and aesthetically pleasing. The snap - ring - type installation structure is ingeniously designed, greatly improving the installation efficiency. In addition, the SIRIUS metal series has a very high protection level, reaching IP67 and NEMA4.

Standards

  • IEC60947, EN60947 - 1 (DIN VDE0660 Part 100), IEC60947 - 5 - 1, EN60947 - 5 - 1 (DIN VDE0660 Part 200)

Design

  • The plastic series has a flat appearance, with circular and square shapes. The metal series only has a circular shape.
  • The flat appearance makes the plastic series coordinate very well with the membrane panel and is easy to clean.
  • The operating surface of buttons and illuminated buttons is concave. The lens of the indicator light is convex.

Inscriptions

  • Inscriptions can be directly laser - engraved on the surface of components or engraved on nameplates or thin plates, and engraving systems can also be used.

Structure

  • A control device consists of three parts: the button head or light cover on the front of the panel, the installation base behind the panel, and the contact block or light socket.
  • The installation base of the circular series can be used on both sides. One side is suitable for panels with a thickness of 1 - 4mm, and the other side is suitable for panels with a thickness of 3 - 6mm.
  • The installation base of the square series is only suitable for panels with a thickness of 1 - 4mm.
  • A button with a regular configuration can be installed with two contact blocks. When three contact blocks or one light socket + two contact blocks are needed, a 3 - position bracket (3SB3901 - 0AB) must be inserted at the rear of the button head. For knob switches, key switches, and double - button units, a 3 - position bracket (3SB3901 - 0AC) with a central contact driving piece needs to be inserted.
  • For the convenience of users in selection, we have set up package device order numbers for some commonly used models, which can meet the needs of most applications.

Base

  • When delivered, the installation position of the base is suitable for panels with a thickness of 1 - 4mm, that is: the arrow direction of ▲1 - 4mm▲ faces forward, and the locking screw is at the lower right corner. When the panel thickness is 3 - 6mm, the base needs to be rotated 180 degrees, that is: the arrow direction of ▲3 - 6mm▲ faces forward, and the locking screw is at the upper right corner. In this case, the locking screw must be turned counterclockwise to the end before installing the base.

Contact Blocks and Light Sockets

  • There is a slow - action contact with a double - break contact bridge structure in the contact block (1NC or 1NO). This structure ensures that the 3SB3 button switch has high reliability even under low voltage and low current (such as 5V/1mA) conditions. They are suitable for electronic systems and regular electrical control.
  • The normally closed (NC) contact realizes the safety function through forced opening.
  • BA9s (screw connection) and W2×4.6d (solder connection) light sockets can be used for illuminated buttons and signal lights.
  • Both the contact block and the light socket have terminal markings in line with EN50013.

Installation

  • SIRIUS devices can be installed simply and quickly:
    • Insert the button head or indicator head from the front of the control panel
    • Install the base from the rear
    • Tighten the screws on the base
    • Directly clamp the contact block or light socket on the base

Wiring Methods

  • Screw terminal blocks
  • Cage - clamp terminal blocks
  • Solder connection (0.8×0.8mm)
  • The screw terminal blocks of 3SB3 have SIGUT wiring technology. The anti - loosening structure prevents the screws from detaching from the main body during transportation. When delivered, the screws are in a loose state. Open - type terminals, trumpet - shaped wiring holes, and guide cones greatly improve the installation efficiency. Electric screwdrivers can be used.
  • Cage - type spring terminal blocks: fast installation and can be closely arranged.

Button Boxes

  • For circular buttons, plastic button boxes can be equipped with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 control points. Control points more than 6 (circular or square buttons) can also be supplied as needed.

Communicable SIRIUS 3SB3

  • The 4I/4OAS - i user module with a chip can connect SIRIUS control components to the AS - i network system.

Connection Methods

  • AS - i user module for circuit boards
  • Single - piece connection method
  • AS - i front panel module
  • AS - i button box
  • SIRIUS can also communicate with PROFIBUS - DP.
