Series Overview
Series Overview
Siemens 3TH4 Contactor - Type Relay for Railway Special Use
Standards
- IEC 60947 - 4 - 1, EN 60947 - 4 - 1
- Protection against accidental contact, conforming to IEC 60529. Depending on the combination with other equipment, it is necessary to mount the terminal cover on the connection busbar.
- All technical specifications not specified here are the same as those of the standard 3TH4 contactor.
Ambient Temperature
- The allowable ambient temperature for contactor operation (within the entire operating range of the coil) is between - 50 °C and + 70 °C. Continuous operation at temperatures from - 25 °C to + 55 °C will reduce the mechanical service life, the current - carrying capacity of the current path, and the switching frequency.
- When the ambient temperature is higher than 55 °C, there must be a 10mm gap between adjacent contactors. There is no need to reduce the technical specifications.
Scope of Application
- Can be used in devices with large control voltage changes and high ambient temperatures, such as in railway applications.
Control and Auxiliary Circuits
- The coil of the contactor - type relay has an extended coil operating range of 0.7 to 1.25 x Us and is equipped with a variable resistor for overvoltage protection as a standard component. Therefore, the operation delay is 2 - 5 ms longer than that of the standard contactor.
Siemens 3TH4 Intermediate Contactor
Standards
- IEC 60947 - 1, EN 60947 - 1, IEC 60947 - 5 - 1, EN 60947 - 5 - 1.
- The contactor - type relays of 3TH42 and 3TH43 are suitable for use in any climate. They can be safely touched with fingers, meeting the requirements of IEC 60529.
Terminal Naming Conforms to EN 50011
- Regarding their terminal names, identification numbers, and identification letters, the contactor - type relays of 3TH42/3TH43 conform to the EN 50011 standard for "special contactor - type relays".
Contact Reliability
- Due to the use of double - break contacts, high contact stability can be achieved at low voltages and currents, suitable for electronic circuits with a voltage ≥ 17 V and a current ≥ 1 mA.
Surge Suppression
- 3TH42/3TH43 contactors can be equipped with RC components, varistors, diodes, or diode assemblies (a combination of a diode and a Zener diode) for suppressing circuit surges.
Siemens 3TH2 Intermediate Contactor
Standards
- IEC 60947 - 1, EN 60947 - 1, IEC 60947 - 5 - 1, EN 60947 - 5 - 1.
- The small contactor - type relay of 3TH2 is suitable for use in any climate. The small contactor - type relay equipped with screw - type terminals conforms to IEC 60529 for protection against accidental contact.
Terminal Naming Conforms to EN 50011.
Connection
- The small contactor - type relay 3TH20 with 4 auxiliary contacts can be equipped with SIGUT screw - type terminals, 6.3 mm x 0.8 mm flat connectors, and soldered connections.
- The small contactor - type relay equipped with 6.3 mm x 0.8 mm flat connectors can be used in plug - in sockets with soldered joints on printed circuit boards. The small contactor - type relays are encoded, and the sockets can also be encoded to ensure interchangeability.
- The small contactor - type relay 3TH22 with 8 integrated contacts can be equipped with screw - type terminals. The terminal naming conforms to EN 50011.
Contact Reliability
- It has high contact stability at low voltages and currents, suitable for electronic circuits with a current ≥ 1 mA and a voltage ≥ 17 V.
