Frame Sizes
- The complete 3VA portfolio includes two different MCCB series: the 3VA1 thermal-magnetic series with five frame sizes, and the 3VA2 electronic series with six frame sizes.
- The new 3VA series MCCBs set new standards in flexibility and diversity for modular accessories. Standard accessories applicable across the range of different 3VA frame sizes help reduce costs and save time.
- 3VA1 160A MCCBs are available in 1-pole to 4-pole versions. 100A MCCBs are available in 3-pole and 4-pole versions. 3VA2 MCCBs are available in 3-pole and 4-pole versions.
- Depending on the series and frame size, the rated operational current of the circuit breakers ranges from 16A to 1000A, with a rated voltage of up to 690V.
3VA1 Molded Case Circuit Breakers
3VA1 molded case circuit breakers reliably fulfill all requirements for line and motor starter protection tasks.

- Breaking capacity at 415V for 3-pole or 4-pole breakers depending on frame size: from 16kA to 70kA (400/630A up to 110kA); breaking capacity for 1-pole breakers at 240V is 36kA
- Fixed-mounted, plug-in, and withdrawable versions
- Thermal-magnetic trip units
- AC/DC applications
- Fixed-mounted breakers require no derating up to 50°C (according to IEC 60947-2); refer to the product manual for derating information for other mounting types

- Accessories are universal for 3VA molded case circuit breakers
Compact Design
- Thanks to an installation depth of 70 mm and a cover height of 45 mm, the 3VA1 MCCBs in the 100A, 160A, and 250A frames for cable and line protection, and the 160A and 250A frames for motor starter protection, are ideally suited for industrial and residential distribution applications. For these applications, a wide range of accessories is available, such as adapters for mounting on standard rails, and the WCD310 (up to 160A) and KCD510 residual current devices for side mounting.
Thermal-Magnetic Release
- The thermal-magnetic release is the most basic trip unit providing overload and short-circuit protection. It is an economical and cost-effective solution for rated currents up to 630A.
- It is suitable for three-phase AC applications, 400Hz AC applications, and DC applications.
