Application and Scope
The HSL6 series Residual Current Operated Circuit Breakers (also known as leakage current circuit breakers, hereinafter referred to as circuit breakers) are suitable for circuits with AC 50Hz, rated insulation voltage up to 1000V, rated operational voltage up to 400V, and rated currents from 10A to 630A. The circuit breakers can be used for infrequent switching operations of lines and motors, providing protection against overload and short-circuit faults. They also provide indirect contact protection for personnel (i.e., protection against the hazard of increased ground voltage due to insulation damage) and prevent fire hazards caused by earth faults resulting from equipment insulation damage. With a rated residual operating current of 30mA, they can provide additional protection against direct contact.
● This circuit breaker has an isolation function, denoted by the symbol:
● The circuit breaker complies with GB/T 14048.2 and GB/T 14048.1.
● The derived J-type (alarm-only without tripping type) Residual Current Operated Circuit Breaker from this series (hereinafter referred to as J-type circuit breaker) activates an alarm relay when the leakage current of the line or equipment exceeds the specified value, providing an alarm signal without tripping, prompting maintenance personnel to inspect the circuit promptly. Its leakage alarm current is above 100mA and cannot provide safety protection for personnel. It generally does not possess an inverse time-delay protection characteristic, meaning it will not trip automatically under overload conditions; it trips automatically only in the event of a short-circuit fault. It is mainly suitable for locations where power interruption is undesirable during general faults, such as fire control systems and elevators.
● This series of circuit breakers can provide Type A residual current protection suitable for both AC and pulsating DC applications.
Normal Service and Installation Conditions
Ambient Air Temperature
●
–25°C to +70°C, with the 24-hour average not exceeding +35°C; Derating is required for ambient temperatures exceeding +40°C. Refer to the technical data and performance section in the catalog. Products with temperatures as low as
–40°C are also available.
Altitude
● The altitude of the installation site should not exceed
2000m; Derating is required for installations above 2000m.
Relative Humidity
● The relative humidity of the air at the installation site should not exceed
50% at +40°C; Higher relative humidity is permissible at lower temperatures, e.g., up to
95% at +20°C. Appropriate measures should be taken against condensation caused by temperature changes.
Installation Environment
● The circuit breaker should be installed in a medium without explosion hazards, free from gases and conductive dust sufficient to corrode metal and destroy insulation, and protected from rain and snow.
Pollution Degree
● Pollution Degree
3.
Installation Category
● The main circuit installation category is
III. The installation category for all other auxiliary and control circuits is
II.
Mounting Position
● The standard mounting position is vertical, but horizontal mounting is also permissible.
