Series Overview

Outline

Scope of Application

  • HM8L (hereinafter referred to as the Circuit Breaker) is suitable for use in power systems with an AC frequency of 50Hz, rated voltage up to 400V, and rated current up to 630A. It is used to distribute electrical energy and protect the power system from hazards caused by overloads, short circuits, and other faults. It can also be used to control motors for infrequent operations.

The residual current (earth leakage) protection function of this circuit breaker provides indirect contact protection against fatal electric shocks to persons. It also prevents electrical fires caused by persistent earth fault currents that cannot be detected by overcurrent protection devices.

The rated residual operating current of this circuit breaker is adjustable, and the residual current protection operating time is also adjustable. Therefore, selective protection in the event of an earth leakage can be achieved within the distribution system. When the rated residual operating current is set to 30mAh, this circuit breaker can also be used as a device providing protection against direct contact in the event of failure of the relevant protective device.

● Classification according to DC component: Type AC: Ensures tripping for residual sinusoidal currents without a DC component, whether suddenly applied or slowly rising. Type A: Ensures tripping for residual sinusoidal AC currents with a specified residual pulsating DC component, whether suddenly applied or slowly rising.

● Complies with Standards: GB/T 14048.2, IEC 60947-2, GB/26829, IEC 755.

Normal Service Conditions

● Upper limit of ambient air temperature not exceeding +40°C, lower limit not lower than -5°C, average temperature over any 24-hour period not exceeding +35°C.

● Relative humidity of air: ≤ 95%.
● Altitude not exceeding 2000m; derating is required for altitudes above 2000m.
● Pollution Degree: Level 3. No explosion hazard in the surrounding atmosphere, and no gases or conductive dust that corrode metal or destroy insulation.
● Installation Category: III.
● The circuit breaker's "1, 3, 5, N1" terminals are for the power supply connection; the "2, 4, 6, N2" terminals are for the load connection. Reverse connection is not permitted.
● The mounting surface of the circuit breaker shall be perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The basic mounting method is vertical installation with the power supply end at the top and the load end at the bottom. Horizontal mounting is also permissible.
