Series Overview

The DZ20L series Residual Current Protective Circuit Breakers (hereinafter referred to as the circuit breakers) are primarily suitable for circuits with an AC frequency of 50Hz, a rated voltage of 380V, and a rated current up to 630A. They are used for protection against electric shock to persons or leakage current in equipment; they can also be used to prevent fire hazards caused by earth fault currents resulting from equipment insulation damage. Simultaneously, they can be used for the distribution of electrical energy and for providing overload and short-circuit protection for lines and power supply equipment. They can also be used for infrequent switching of circuits.

The transparent-housed residual current protective circuit breakers derived from this series feature covers made of new, high-temperature-resistant, high-strength polycarbonate material, allowing for visual confirmation of contact status (open/closed).

Complies with standard GB14048.2.

Normal Working and Installation Conditions

• Ambient Air Temperature

• Upper limit: +40 °C.

• Lower limit: -5 °C.

• The average value over any 24-hour period shall not exceed +35 °C.

• Altitude: The altitude of the installation site shall not exceed 2000m.

• Pollution Degree: Degree 3.

• Installation Category: Class III.

• Atmospheric Conditions: The relative humidity of the atmosphere shall not exceed 50% at an ambient air temperature of +40 °C; a higher relative humidity is permissible at lower temperatures; the monthly average of the daily maximum relative humidity of the most humid month is 90%, while the monthly average of the daily minimum temperature for that month is +25 °C, taking into account condensation occurring on the product surface due to temperature changes.

• External Magnetic Fields: The magnetic field near the installation site of the residual current circuit breaker shall not exceed 5 times the Earth's magnetic field in any direction. The installation position shall be vertical, with a maximum inclination of 5° in any direction.

Structure and Operating Principle

• This series of circuit breakers are electronic residual current protective circuit breakers. They are mainly composed of a zero-sequence current transformer, an integrated circuit amplifier, a leakage trip unit, a test device, and a circuit breaker with overload and short-circuit protection. All components are housed within a plastic enclosure.

• When an overload or short-circuit occurs in the protected circuit or power supply equipment, the thermal-magnetic trip unit within the main switch performs a delayed or instantaneous tripping action, thereby cutting off the power supply to provide overload or short-circuit protection. When there is leakage current in the protected circuit or electric shock to a person, as long as the leakage current reaches the operating current value, the secondary winding of the zero-sequence current transformer outputs a signal. This signal is processed by the leakage circuit board, which then commands the leakage trip unit to operate, thereby cutting off the power supply to provide leakage and electric shock protection.
