Series Overview

Tmax solves installation and application problems for rated currents up to 1600A.

Flexible Choice of Installation Methods

• Tmax circuit breakers offer 7 frame sizes and 3 trip unit types: magnetic-only, thermomagnetic, and electronic. Combined with a comprehensive range of accessories, they easily handle even the most specific and demanding applications.

Flexible Solution to All Installation Problems

• Tmax circuit breakers boast a higher performance-to-size ratio than any comparable product on the market, providing users with more space for cable routing and enabling reduced switchgear dimensions.

Flexible Application of the Most Advanced Technology

• Leveraging ABB's over half a century of leading experience in circuit breaker development and manufacturing, Tmax breakers achieve compact size and high performance. ABB provides unique, superior solutions like the quick accessory mounting system or the new intelligent electronic trip unit for T7 breakers.

Absolute Safety and Reliability

• ABB is committed to pursuing the highest quality in products and services, ensuring Tmax circuit breakers are absolutely safe and reliable.

Tmax T1, T2, T3: The Perfect Solution up to 250A

• Designed from the outset to work perfectly together, T1, T2, and T3 offer the best functionality and performance for their size on the market. They share a uniform depth of 70mm, making installation simple. Their new arc chutes utilize gas-generating materials and an innovative structure, significantly reducing arc extinction time. Furthermore, they feature trip units with adjustable thermal thresholds and new convenient-to-assemble 3-pole or 4-pole residual current trip units, optimizing switchgear space. T1, T2, T3 come with a standard set of accessories.

T1: Compact Size, High Performance

• The T1 breaker features an extremely compact size. Its dimensional advantage is evident compared to breakers with similar performance (frame current 160A, breaking capacity 36kA@415VAC).

T2: Intelligent, High Performance

• T2 is the only breaker achieving a frame current of 160A and high performance (short-circuit breaking capacity 85kA@415VAC) in such a small size. It can also be equipped with the latest electronic trip units.

T3: 70mm Depth, Frame Current up to 250A

• The T3 breaker is the only one achieving a frame current of 250A with a depth of just 70mm – a significant advancement for molded case circuit breakers. T3 breakers can protect motors with power ratings up to 90kW (415VAC).

Tmax T4, T5, T6: Flexible Choice up to 800A

• T4, T5, and T6 breakers offer the highest performance-to-size ratio in their class. With a complete range, advanced electronic trip units, and a full set of standard accessories, they are suitable for various applications.
• ABB ensures unprecedented high performance and an exceptional rated current-to-volume ratio for Tmax through the use of high-quality materials and innovative structural techniques. At 415VAC, T4 and T5 achieve breaking capacities up to 200kA; at 690VAC, up to 80kA. They are also suitable for AC 1150V and DC 1000V applications.
• Utilizing new electronic trip unit technology, ABB provides unique, superior technical solutions. T4, T5, and T6 share a uniform depth of 103.5mm and standardized accessories, enabling simple installation, ease of use, and reduced inventory.

PR 223DS Electronic Trip Unit - Flexible Control

• The PR223DS electronic trip unit can be fitted on T4, T5, and T6 breakers for distribution applications. It not only measures various electrical parameters but also indicates system configuration and alarm status on its front panel.

PR223EF Electronic Trip Unit - Innovative Design

• The PR223EF electronic trip unit features the EFDP system, offering two characteristics: selectivity and fast tripping. Breakers with PR223EF are specifically designed for applications requiring high selectivity up to 800A, enabling fast fault detection and a high number of selectivity levels.
• The EFDP system allows for reduced equipment size and optimized busbar and cable dimensions in electrical systems, resulting in cost savings.

Tmax T7: Powerful, Rated Current up to 1600A

• T7, available in manually or electrically operated versions, is a truly newly designed molded case circuit breaker featuring advanced electronic trip units, superior performance, and accessory solutions.
• The T7 breaker is highly flexible, suitable for both fixed and withdrawable installations in vertical or horizontal mounting positions, and can be fitted with various different terminal types.
• It incorporates a new swing-out system, making the operation of moving parts quicker and safer. The significantly reduced height of the T7 breaker simplifies cable routing.
• A major innovation of the T7 is its quick accessory wiring system. Internal wiring within the breaker allows for fast, simple, and secure connection to external circuits. T7 breakers can achieve horizontal or vertical mechanical interlocking between two breakers using unique flexible cables. Additionally, T7 can also be mechanically interlocked with air circuit breakers.
• T7 breakers feature basic electronic trip units PR231 and PR232, as well as advanced electronic trip units PR331 and PR332. The basic PR231 and PR232 have DIP switches on the front panel for setting protection thresholds and LEDs indicating each protection function. PR331 and PR332 are new electronic trip units equipped with rating plugs, allowing users to freely change the rating plug to alter the rated current. PR332 features a wide-screen LCD display, providing very clear and intuitive visualization of all relevant information. It also offers numerous advanced protection functions, such as a data logger to record all events and electrical values for easy analysis.
