● WEEE 2012/19/EU - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment;
● Conflict Minerals - Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Consumer Protection Act.

Construction Features

● All Tmax XT molded case circuit breakers are manufactured with the following construction features.
● Double Insulation
● Tmax XT circuit breakers feature double insulation between live parts (excluding terminals) and the front parts operated by personnel during normal operation. The base of each electrical accessory is completely isolated from the power circuit, preventing any risk of contact with live parts. In particular, the operating mechanism is fully insulated from the power circuit.
● The circuit breaker features oversized insulation both near live internal parts and connection terminals. Furthermore, the distances exceed the requirements of the IEC standard and fully comply with the provisions of the UL 489 standard.
● Reliable Operation
● The operating handle always indicates the precise position of the circuit breaker's moving contacts, ensuring safe and reliable signaling in compliance with IEC 60073 and IEC 60417-2 standards (I = ON; O = OFF; yellow-green line = trip due to protection). The circuit breaker's operating mechanism trips easily regardless of handle pressure or operating speed. Protective tripping automatically opens the moving contacts: to close them again, the operating mechanism must first be reset by pushing the handle from the intermediate position to the bottom OFF position.
● Isolation Function
● In the OFF position, the circuit breaker ensures insulation distances comply with the IEC 60947-2 standard, preventing leakage current from flowing between the input and output terminals.
● Tropical Climate Suitability
● Circuit breakers and accessories in the Tmax XT series are tested according to IEC 60068-2-30 standard, using the "variant 1" method (section 7.3.3), performing two test cycles at 55°C.
● Suitability for the most severe environmental conditions, as defined by class 8 humid warm climate according to IEC 60721-2-1, is further guaranteed for the Tmax XT series thanks to:
● Plastic enclosure made of synthetic resin reinforced with glass fiber;
● Anti-corrosion treatment of main metal parts;
● Fe/Zn 12 galvanic coating (ISO 2081) protected by a conversion layer, free from hexavalent chromium (ROHS compliant), offering the same corrosion resistance guaranteed by ISO 4520 class 2C;
● Anti-condensation protection adopted for the electronic overcurrent trip units and related accessories.
