Series Overview
Product Series Overview
- CM5Z Molded Case Circuit Breakers (hereinafter referred to as circuit breakers) are a new generation of circuit breakers developed with internationally advanced double-break structure technology.
- The intelligent CM5Z series circuit breakers have six frame sizes: 125A, 160A, 250A, 400A, 630A, and 1600A, with current ratings from 12.5A to 1600A.
- CM5Z intelligent circuit breakers offer various optional intelligent releases, including Type E, Type Z, and Type iP. The iP type provides comprehensive energy monitoring functions and is available for 250, 400, and 630 frame sizes.
- CM5Z-250, 400, and 630 circuit breakers can be quickly and integrally installed using busbar adapters.
- Based on the level of Rated Ultimate Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity (Icu), circuit breakers are classified into seven levels: Type C (Basic), Type L (Standard), Type M (Higher Breaking), Type H (High Breaking), Type S (Ultra High Breaking), Type V (Extreme High Breaking), and Type R (690V High Performance).
- Circuit breakers with short-circuit breaking capacity levels C, L, M, H, and S can be reverse connected at all voltage levels. Type V and Type R cannot be reverse connected at AC 690V.
- Circuit breakers can be mounted vertically or horizontally on vertical mounting plates, or on horizontal mounting plates.
- All circuit breakers have isolation function, indicated by the symbol: 1X.
Standards:
- IEC 60947-1 & GB/T 14048.1-2012 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - General rules
- IEC 60947-2 & GB/T 14048.2-2008 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Circuit-breakers
- IEC 60947-3 & GB/T 14048.3-2017 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Switches, disconnectors, switch-disconnectors and fuse-combination units
- IEC 60947-4-1 & GB/T 14048.4-2010 Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear - Contactors and motor-starters - Electromechanical contactors and motor-starters (including motor protection)
- The CM5Z-1600 intelligent molded case circuit breaker features compact size, high breaking capacity, rich functions, and comprehensive protection, with performance indicators reaching internationally advanced levels. Furthermore, the coordination between CM5Z-1600 and the downstream OI5 molded case circuit breaker meets the requirements for full selectivity according to GB/T 14048.2 Appendix A.
- CM5Z-1600 is suitable for low-voltage distribution systems with AC 50/60Hz, rated operational voltages of 400V, 440V, 500V, 550V, 690V, and rated currents from 800A to 1600A. It can protect not only lines but also equipment such as motors and generators. The product can be applied in scenarios like large-capacity transformer branch circuits, centralized load control, long cable power supply, and new energy fields such as photovoltaic power generation.
- CM5Z-1600 intelligent molded case circuit breakers offer various optional intelligent releases, including Type EA, Type EP, Type BQ, Type EN, and Type BG.
- Based on the level of Rated Ultimate Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity (Icu), CM5Z-1600 circuit breakers are classified into four levels: Type L (Standard), Type F (General), Type M (Higher Breaking), Type H (High Breaking).
- CM5Z-1600 circuit breakers can be reverse connected at all voltage levels and for all short-circuit breaking capacity levels.
- CM5Z-1600 circuit breakers can be mounted vertically or horizontally on vertical mounting plates, on horizontal mounting plates, and also in a withdrawable version.
- The circuit breaker has an isolation function, indicated by the symbol: -1x.
Application Scenarios
Low-Voltage Distribution Protection
- CM5Z distribution-type circuit breakers can be used in AC 50/60Hz TN, TT, IT distribution systems, meeting the requirements for "Selection of Electrical Appliances" in GB 50054.
- The reliable contact indication and isolation function of CM5Z circuit breakers meet the requirements for isolation devices in GB 50054.
Motor Circuit Protection
- CM5Z motor protection-type circuit breakers provide overcurrent protection for motor starters, cables, and motors. Their protection characteristics meet GB 14048.4, and their application meets GB 50055.
Generator Protection
- CM5Z-1600 circuit breakers can be equipped with the optional Type BG intelligent release, which not only provides overcurrent protection for generators but also enables over-frequency, under-frequency, and reverse power protection, meeting the requirements of GB 755 standard.
Switching Function
- Two CM5Z circuit breakers equipped with a mechanical interlock mechanism can achieve manual switching between two power sources for the same device or between two devices on the same power source.
- Two mechanically and electrically interlocked circuit breakers, equipped with a controller, can achieve automatic switching between two power sources.
