Series Overview
Application and Scope
· The HSM6E series electronic molded case circuit breakers (hereinafter referred to as circuit breakers) are suitable for low-voltage power grids with AC 50Hz, rated operational voltage up to 690V, and rated currents from 32A (starting from 16A setting current) to 1600A. They are used for distributing electrical energy, making and breaking circuits under normal conditions infrequently, and providing protection against overload, short-circuit, earth fault, and under-voltage in lines and equipment. Circuit breakers with a rated frame current rating of 630A and below can also be used for the infrequent starting and breaking during operation of squirrel cage motors, as well as providing protection against motor overload, short-circuit, phase failure, and under-voltage.
· The circuit breaker features three-stage protection: overload long-time delay, short-time delay short-circuit, and instantaneous short-circuit. The protection current and operating time are adjustable.
· In addition to the intelligent trip unit's three-stage protection, the circuit breaker is also equipped with a backup protection featuring an electromagnetic trip with instantaneous short-circuit characteristics, enhancing product reliability.
· This circuit breaker complies with standards such as GB/T 14048.2 and GB/T 14048.4.
Normal Service and Mounting Conditions
Ambient Air Temperature
· -25°C to +70°C, with the average value over 24 hours not exceeding +35°C; Derating is required for ambient temperatures exceeding +40°C; Products suitable for temperatures as low as -40°C are also available.
Altitude
· The altitude of the installation site should not exceed 2000m; Derating is required for altitudes exceeding 2000m.
Relative Humidity
· The relative humidity of the air at the installation site should not exceed 50% at +40°C; Higher relative humidity is permissible at lower temperatures, for example, up to 95% at +20°C; Appropriate measures should be taken against condensation caused by temperature changes.
Mounting Environment
· The circuit breaker should be installed in a medium without explosion hazard, free from gases and conductive dust sufficient to corrode metals and destroy insulation, and protected against rain and snow.
Pollution Degree
· Pollution Degree 3.
Installation Category
· The installation category for the main circuit of the circuit breaker is III. The installation category for all other auxiliary and control circuits is III.
Mounting Direction
· The basic mounting position for the circuit breaker is vertical, but horizontal mounting is also possible.
