EZD Molded Case Circuit Breakers
EZD Molded Case Circuit Breakers are a product series developed by Schneider Electric specifically tailored for
secondary distribution. They are particularly suitable for secondary distribution, the civil construction market, and the electromechanical market, helping you easily build a safe and reliable power distribution network.
Easy Selection:
● Breaking capacity covers common levels for secondary distribution and the electromechanical market: 7.5kA, 10kA, 18kA, 25kA, 35kA, 36kA, and 50kA, including 3-pole and 4-pole products. The entire series features only
3 frame sizes. Fewer standard sizes provide convenience for future expansion and upgrades. Comprehensive protection coverage includes low-voltage distribution system protection, motor protection, and earth leakage protection.
Easy Installation:
● Mounting options include fixed and plug-in types. Various accessories can be installed on-site. Top and bottom terminal wiring is interchangeable without derating, avoiding "spider webs" inside distribution boxes.
● Flexible mounting positions: vertical, horizontal, side, or back mounting, with no impact on product performance.
● A complete range of mounting and connection accessories is provided to meet different installation needs.
● Busbar products are available for connecting 12 ways of EZD100 3-pole outgoing circuits, eliminating wiring needs. Installation is simple, layout is aesthetically pleasing and concise, enabling more compact and rational installation.
Easy Operation:
● Switch status is reliable and accurate, indicating contact position clearly, providing "visible safety". Protection rating up to IP54.
● Operation modes include motor operation, direct rotary handle operation, and extended rotary handle operation.
● Provides earth leakage alarm without tripping function, ensuring safety while better guaranteeing power supply continuity.
Environmental Protection of EZD Molded Case Circuit Breakers
Schneider Electric has a long-term environmental policy. As part of this policy, the EZD series is designed to comply with current and future environmental standards, from initial product design through to final use and maintenance:
● Materials used in EZD do not cause environmental pollution.
● Production equipment is pollution-free and complies with ISO 14001 standards.
● Materials are recyclable.
● Power consumption per pole is very low and negligible.
Applications:
● The
EZD series of molded case circuit breakers are suitable for use in AC 50/60Hz distribution networks with a rated operational voltage up to 550Vac and rated currents from 15A to 630A. They are used for distributing electrical energy and protecting lines, power sources, and electrical equipment against damage from overloads and short circuits, improving power supply reliability and continuity.
Compliance with Standards:
International Standards:
● IEC 947-1: General rules (GB/T 14048.1)
● IEC 947-2: Circuit-breakers (GB/T 14048.2)
● IEC 947-4: Contactors and motor-starters (GB 14048.4)
● IEC 947-5.1: Control circuit devices and switching elements; Electromechanical control circuit devices (GB 14048.5)
National Standards:
● GB 14048.1 General rules
● GB 14048.2 Circuit-breakers
Damp Heat Resistance Measures:
EZD circuit breakers and auxiliary devices meet T2 damp heat conditions, complying with the following standards:
● IEC 68-2-30: Relative humidity of 95% at 45°C (Hot and damp heat climate)
● IEC 68-2-11: Salt mist test
Isolation Function:
All EZD circuit breakers are suitable for isolation, complying with IEC 947-2 standard:
● Contact isolation position is at "0" (OFF position).
● The operating handle cannot be in the "OFF" position unless the contacts are fully open.
● Padlocking is only possible when all contacts are in the open state.
● Installing an extended rotary handle does not compromise the reliability of the position indication system.
Isolation function is guaranteed by tests:
● Mechanical contact reliability is ensured by the position indication system.
● No leakage current.
● Overvoltage withstand capability refers to the withstand voltage value between its incoming and outgoing terminals.
Class II Switchgear Installation:
● All EZD circuit breakers should be installed in Class II switchgear (according to IEC 664 standard).
● No special operations are required for installation and commissioning, as
EZD provides Class III insulation for the panel and all internal wiring.
Wiring Direction:
● EZD does not require derating when used with bottom entry and top exit wiring (except for VigiEZD). This feature provides greater convenience for panel installation.
