RMM5E Electronic Molded Case Circuit Breaker
Application
The RMM5E series Molded Case Circuit Breakers (hereinafter referred to as "breaker") are suitable for circuits with AC 50Hz, rated operational voltage up to 690V, and rated operational current up to 630A. They are used for infrequent switching and motor starting. The breaker provides overload, short-circuit, and undervoltage protection to prevent damage to circuits and power equipment.
Operating Conditions
● Ambient temperature: -5°C to +40°C; average value over 24 hours not exceeding +35°C.
● Atmospheric conditions: Relative humidity ≤50% at +40°C; higher humidity is permissible at lower temperatures (e.g., 90% at +20°C). Special measures must be taken for occasional condensation due to temperature changes.
● Pollution degree: Level 3
● Altitude: Installation altitude ≤2000m

Accessories
Auxiliary Switch
● Provides remote indication of breaker status.
● Used for indication, electrical interlocking, relay control, etc.
● Each auxiliary switch has one NO (normally open) and one NC (normally closed) contact.
● RMM5E-63/160/250 supports up to two auxiliary switches; RMM5E-630 supports up to six.
● Complies with GB/T 14048.5.
Function: Indicates breaker status during normal operation or after faults:
● ON/OFF: Indicates contact position.
Terminal Marking:
● Group 1: F11 (common), F12 (break contact), F14 (make contact).
● Group 2: F21 (common), F22 (break contact), F24 (make contact).
● Subsequent groups follow the same pattern (F31, F32, etc.).
Alarm Switch
● Signals faults such as overload, short-circuit, undervoltage, or free tripping.
● Two alarm switches: First activates upon tripping; second activates during overcurrent tripping.
● RMM5E series supports up to two alarm switches per breaker.
● Complies with GB/T 14048.5.
Function: Trip indication due to:
● Overload; short-circuit; earth fault; voltage coil-induced tripping; trip button press.
Terminal Marking:
● Group 1: B11 (common), B12 (make contact), B14 (break contact).
● Group 2: B21 (common), B22 (break contact), B24 (make contact).
Shunt Release
● Enables remote breaker tripping.
● Reliably operates at 70%–110% of rated control supply voltage.
● Electrically actuated for remote/automatic control.
● Only one shunt release or undervoltage release can be installed per breaker.
● Suitable for intermittent duty; requires series-connected auxiliary switch if powered continuously.
Function: Automatically trips breaker when energized. Trips when voltage U > 0.7Us.
Undervoltage Release
● Disconnects circuits during low voltage to protect loads.
● Only one undervoltage release or shunt release can be installed per breaker. Requires power to reset/close.
Function:
● Trips when supply voltage is between 0.35Us and 0.7Us.
● Prevents closing when U < 0.35Us.
● Ensures closing when U > 0.85Us.
Motorized Operating Mechanism
● Enables infrequent circuit switching/motor starting via manual or electrical operation.
Manual Operating Mechanism
● Uses a rotary handle for closing, opening, and resetting. Suitable for panel operation in drawer-type cabinets. RMM5E adopts a rotary mechanism.
Built-in Communication Module
● RMM5E-160/250/630 supports built-in communication via integrated Modbus-RTU protocol in the overcurrent release.
● Requires dedicated communication cable between the release’s interface and host computer.
● Compatible release models:
- bse160c, bse163c, bse250c, bse251c, bse253c
- bse630c, bse631c, bse633c
Technical Parameters:
● Protocol: Modbus-RTU
● Baud rate: 2.4k, 4.8k, 9.6k (default), 19.2kbps
● Parity: None, odd, even
● Interface: RS485
● Address: 1–255 (default: 1; configurable via host software)
● Medium: Shielded twisted pair
● Power: 24V DC, ≤5W
