Frame Size
- The complete 3VA portfolio includes two distinct MCCB series: the 3VA1 thermal-magnetic series with five frame sizes, and the 3VA2 electronic series with six frame sizes.
- The new 3VA series MCCBs set a new standard in flexibility and diversity of modular accessories. Standard accessories applicable across the various 3VA frame sizes help reduce costs and save time.
- 3VA1 160A MCCBs are available in 1-pole to 4-pole versions. 3VA1 100A MCCBs are available in 3-pole and 4-pole versions. 3VA2 MCCBs are available in 3-pole and 4-pole versions.
- Depending on the series and frame size, the circuit breakers cover rated operational currents from 16 A to 1000 A and rated voltages up to 690 V.

3VA1 MCCBs reliably fulfill all requirements for line and motor starter protection.
Features
Key features of the 3VA1 series:
- Compact design
- Available in 1-pole to 4-pole versions, depending on frame size.
- Breaking capacity at 415 V for 3-pole or 4-pole breakers ranges from 16 kA to 70 kA (400/630A frame up to 110 kA), and for 1-pole breakers at 240 V is 36 kA, depending on frame size.
- Fixed-mounted, plug-in, and withdrawable versions.
- Thermal-magnetic trip unit.
- AC/DC applications.
- Fixed-mounted breakers do not require derating up to 50°C (in accordance with IEC 60947-2). Refer to the product manual for derating information for other mounting types.
- Modular and easily installed internal accessories with different functions.
- Accessories are common across the 3VA MCCB range.
Compact Design
- Thanks to an installation depth of 70 mm and a cover height of 45 mm, the 3VA1 MCCBs in the 100 A, 160 A, and 250 A frame sizes are ideal for cable and line protection, while the 160 A and 250 A frame sizes are also suitable for motor starter protection in industrial and residential power distribution. For these applications, a wide range of accessories is available, such as adapters for mounting on standard rails, and the WCD310 residual current device (up to 160 A) and KCD510, which can be mounted laterally.
Thermal-Magnetic Trip Unit
- The thermal-magnetic trip unit is the fundamental unit providing overload and short-circuit protection. It is an economical and cost-effective solution for rated currents up to 630 A.
- It is suitable for three-phase AC applications, 400 Hz AC applications, and DC applications.
