Overview of Series 3VC6 Molded Case Circuit Breakers
The 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker reliably performs all requirements for line and motor starter protection tasks.
Thermal-magnetic Trip Units
• Thermal-magnetic trip units are the most basic tripping units providing overload and short-circuit protection.
• They are highly competitive products with rated currents up to 630A.
Electronic Trip Units
• Electronic trip units are tripping units providing overload, short-time delay short-circuit, and instantaneous protection.
• Their frame sizes cover from 250A to 630A.
Main Features of the 3VC6 Series
• Compact design
• According to frame size: 3-pole and 4-pole
• According to frame size: Breaking capacity covers 8kA to 55kA at 400V AC
• Fixed type, plug-in type
• Protection methods: Thermal-magnetic protection and electronic protection
• Modular internal accessories with different functions and easy installation
Standards and Regulations
The 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker meets the following standards:
• IEC/EN 60947-1
• IEC/EN 60947-2
• IEC/EN 60947-5-1
• GB/T 14048.1, 14048.2, 14048.5
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
The 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker complies with the requirements of the following standards:
• CISPR 11, Class A and B
• IEC/EN 60947-2, Annexes B, F, J, and N
The 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker is sufficiently resistant to the following factors:
• Electrostatic charges
• Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
• Electromagnetic waves, e.g., from transmission systems, mobile phones, cordless phones, and radar systems
• Overvoltages, e.g., caused by lightning
• Voltage surges
Environmental Conditions
• Pollution Degree: The operation of the 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker complies with the requirements for Pollution Degree 3 according to IEC/EN 60947-1 and IEC/EN 60664-1.
• Ambient Temperature: The 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker can be used in environments between -25°C and +70°C. Derating is required for use at ambient temperatures above +40°C.
• Special Climatic Conditions: The 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker can also be used under harsh operating conditions.
• Storage, Transport, and Fixed-Use Harsh Conditions: According to Class E used in IEC/EN 60947-1 Annex Q, the molded case circuit breaker has passed relevant special tests. This class covers the area MC3 + CC2 + SC1:
• Ambient temperature
• Humidity
• Vibration environment
• Shock environment
These specified environmental conditions can be "open deck, humid and cold air without salt mist" or "difficult, non-marine conditions".
Compliance with the Following Relevant Standards
• IEC/EN 60068-2-2 and IEC/EN 60068-2-1: Temperature range: -25°C to +70°C
• IEC/EN 60068-2-30 "Db": Damp heat: Temperature up to +45°C, air humidity up to 95%
• IEC/EN 60068-2-6 "Fc": Vibration test
• IEC/EN 60068-2-27 "Ea": Shock resistance test
• In the standard conformity tests, the availability performance of the equipment is also guaranteed through "Verification of operational characteristics".
Installation Altitude:
• When the 3VC6 molded case circuit breaker is used at altitudes up to 2000 meters, the rated data does not change.
• Installation at altitudes above 2000 meters leads to increased temperatures in the switching device. The reduced air density significantly diminishes heat dissipation. In practical applications, derating of the rated operational voltage, rated current, and short-circuit values is required.
