Series Overview

Advantages

● 3VT circuit breakers meet the high demands of modern power distribution systems through their cost-effectiveness and compact design. These breakers feature a comprehensive range, space-saving characteristics, and ease of operation. They are available in both thermal-magnetic (10A to 630A) and electronic (250A to 630A) versions.

Applications

The various models of 3VT circuit breakers are suitable for the following applications:

● Used as incoming and outgoing circuit breakers in power distribution systems.
● Used as switching and protective devices for motors, transformers, and capacitors.
● Used as main switches and emergency stop switches when combined with lockable rotary operating mechanisms and terminal covers.
3VT circuit breakers are suitable for the following uses:
● For system protection (3-pole and 4-pole): Overload and short-circuit releases provide protection for cables, wires, and non-motor loads.
● For motor protection (3-pole): Overload and short-circuit releases are suitable for the direct starting and protection of three-phase squirrel-cage motors.

Standards and Specifications

3VT circuit breakers comply with the following standards:

GB/T 14048.1 IEC 60947-1, MOD
GB/T 14048.2 IEC 60947-2, IDT
GB/T 14048.4 IEC 60947-4-1, MOD
GB/T 14048.5 IEC 60947-5-1, MOD

Operating Conditions

3VT circuit breakers are designed to withstand various climatic conditions.

● These circuit breakers are designed for installation in enclosed locations without severe operating conditions (such as dust, corrosive vapors, or harmful gases). When installing in dusty or damp locations, suitable enclosures must be provided.

Utilization Categories

● All circuit breakers with thermal-magnetic releases meet Utilization Category A. All circuit breakers with electronic releases meet Utilization Category B.

Degree of Protection

● Fixed circuit breakers: IP20

● Fixed circuit breakers with rear-of-panel screw terminals: IP40
● Plug-in base / Withdrawable - Circuit breaker: IP40
● Plug-in base / Withdrawable - Fixed base: IP20

Design

● Rated current range: 10 A - 630 A

● No derating or performance loss required at temperatures up to 40°C
● Electronic overcurrent release, 250A and above (VT250)
● Three categories of internal accessories
● Comprehensive range of external accessories
● All circuit breakers are supplied complete with integrated overcurrent releases. Auxiliary contacts, alarm contacts, or auxiliary releases can be factory-fitted.
● The breaking capacity is indicated on the front of each circuit breaker.
● Standard breaking capacity: Icu=25-35 kA at AC 50 Hz 400 V
● High breaking capacity: Icu=50 kA at AC 50 Hz 400 V
● Very high breaking capacity: Icu=65 kA at AC 50 Hz 400 V

Connections

● 3VT circuit breakers feature front-mounted input and output connection busbars suitable for fixed copper busbars, braids, or cables, enabling standard busbar connections. Uninsulated conductors connected to the line terminals must be insulated within the arcing distance above the arc chute. Phase barriers or terminal covers can be used for this purpose.

● For 3VT series circuit breakers, the connection points for internal accessories (auxiliary releases, auxiliary contacts, and alarm contacts) are provided with terminal screws.
● For all 3VT series circuit breakers, auxiliary releases (shunt release and undervoltage release) as well as auxiliary contacts and alarm contacts can be easily connected on-site.
● Motor operators are always equipped with terminal blocks.
● For all 3VT series circuit breakers, auxiliary releases (shunt release and undervoltage release) as well as auxiliary contacts and alarm contacts can be easily connected on-site.
● Motor operators are always equipped with terminal blocks.
