A photoelectric sensor basically consists of a light beam emitter (light - emitting diode) and a photosensitive receiver (photosensitive triode).
A light - emitting diode is a semiconductor electronic component. It emits light when current flows through it. Depending on the transmission wavelength, it emits visible light or invisible light.
When an object enters the emitted light beam, it can be detected. When the object enters the emitted light beam, it will affect the light intensity of the photosensitive receiver.
