Introduction
  • Analog I/O modules products include:
    • Four types of isolated/non - isolated analog input modules:
      • 4 and 8 analog high - speed channels (16 - bit), voltage or current; BMX AMI 0410/0810/0800.
      • 4 and 8 analog channels (15 - bit + sign), for thermocouple, platinum, nickel or copper temperature probes; BMX ART 0414/0814.
      • An analog output module with 2, 4, and 8 voltage/current channels;
      • BMX AMO 0210/0410/0802
      • A hybrid module (12 - bit) with 4 analog input channels and 2 analog output non - isolated voltage or current channels; BMXAMM0600.
    • Except for the BMX ART 0414/0814 analog input modules with 40 - pin connectors for thermocouple/temperature probes, the analog I/O modules have 20/28 - pin detachable terminal block connectors.
    • In the BMX XBP●●● rack, all analog modules occupy a single slot. These modules can be installed in any other slots of the rack except the two head slots (PS and 00). These two slots are reserved for the power supply module BMX CPS●●● in the BMX CPS●●● rack and the BMX P34●●●0 processor module.
    • The analog power supply is powered by the backplane bus (3.3 V and 24 V). Analog I/O modules can be hot - swapped.
    • In the Modicon M340 single - rack configuration, the maximum number of analog channels is limited by the number of available slots in the rack (up to 11 slots).
Introduction
  • The BMX XBP●●● rack is a basic component of the Modicon M340 automation platform single rack and multi - rack configurations.
    • These racks perform the following functions:
      • Mechanical function: They are used to install all modules in the PLC station (power supply, processor, discrete I/O, analog and special I/O). These racks can be installed on the panel, plate or DIN rail:
        • In the cabinet shell
        • On the machine rack
      • Electrical function: The rack has a Bus X (user bus). They are used for:
        • Power supply for each module in the same rack
        • Distribute the data and services of the entire PLC station
        • Realize hot - swapping of modules during operation
Introduction
  • Structure of multi-rack configuration
    • The multi-rack configuration using the BMX XBP●●● rack can include at most:
      • 2 racks (machine stations using the BMX P34 1000 processor)
      • 4 racks (machine stations using the BMX P34 2●●0 processor)
      • Each rack is equipped with:
          1. A BMX CPS●●● power supply
          1. A BMX XBE 1000 expansion rack module. This module is inserted into the right side of the rack (slot marked as XBE, ), and does not occupy the 00...11 slots of the rack (4, 6, 8 and 12 slots can be used).
        • The BMX XBE 1000 expansion rack module is connected to each rack through the Bus X expansion cable assembly.
    • Bus X
      • The racks distributed on Bus X are connected to each other through 3 Bus X expansion cable assemblies. The maximum total length of these cables is 30 m. The racks are connected to each other using the BMX XBC●●OK (1) Bus X expansion cable assembly and connected to one 7 and 8 (2 pieces) 9 - pin SUB - D connectors of each 2 BMX XBE 1000 expansion rack modules.
      • Line terminator 4
      • The BMX XBE 1000 expansion rack module at the end of the line must be installed with a TSX TLY EX line terminator on the unused 9 - pin SUB - D type connector.
      • Note: The processor module is always located at rack address 0. However, on the Bus X link, the rack order will not affect the operation. For example, the link order can be 0 - 1 - 2 - 3, 2 - 0 - 3 - 1, 3 - 1 - 2 - 0, etc.
Description
  • The front panel of the BMX XBE 1000 expansion rack module has the following components:
    • security screws for fixing the module in slot XBE
    • display modules, with 5 LEDs:
      • RUN LED (green): The module is in the operating state
      • COL LED (red): All racks have the same address, or rack address 0 is not equipped with the BMX P34●●●0 processor module
      • 0, 1, 2 or 3 LEDs (green): 0, 1, 2 or 3 rack address 7 - a 9 - pin SUB - D connector with the Bus X logo, connected to a 3 Bus X cable assembly from the previous rack, or (if itself is the first rack) used for line termination A/ included in the 4 TSX TLY EX products.
      • 8 a 9 - pin SUB - D connector with the Bus X logo, connecting a 3 Bus X cable assembly to the next rack, or (if itself is the last rack) used for line termination B/ included in the 4 TSX TLY EX products.
      • 3 open switches on the right for defining the rack address: 0...3.
    • Installation rules for BMX XBP●●● rack
