Series Overview
Series Overview
- The following information describes the overall system environmental requirements and characteristics of the TM5 system.
- General environmental characteristics generally apply to all components of the TM5 system.
- TM5 components are industrial equipment of Zone 2 Area A designed in accordance with the IEC/CISPR11 standard. If used in environments other than those specified in the standard or in environments that do not meet the specifications of this manual, due to conducted interference and/or radiated interference, electromagnetic compatibility requirements may not be fully met.
- All TM5 components comply with the requirements of the open - equipment definition in the EU (as in EN61131 - 2).
- These devices must be installed in a chassis specifically designed for a given environmental condition to minimize the possibility of exposure to hazardous voltages.
- A metal - constructed chassis should be used to improve the electromagnetic immunity of the TM5 system. The chassis should be equipped with a lockable access mechanism to minimize unauthorized access as much as possible.
- This equipment has passed UL, CSA, GOST - R, and TÜV certifications and meets CE requirements. This equipment is intended for use in industrial environments with a pollution level of 2.
- Dedicated I/O is a high - performance, dedicated modular channel. These functions are usually embedded in the module so as not to use the resources of the PLC controller and provide a fast response time (depending on the module). For high - level functions, it can be used as an "independent" module because the function can be independent of the controller processing cycle; it only exchanges some information with the control CPU.
- Ethernet is used for the physical and data link layer technologies of LANs, also known as IEEE802.3.
- Firmware represents the operating system on the controller.
- Fast I/O is a specific I/O with certain electronic functions (such as response time), but the processing of these channels is completed by the controller CPU.
- The bus base plate is an installation device used to fix electronic modules on a DIN rail and connect them to the TM5 bus of M258 and LMC058 controllers. Each bus base plate extends the TM5 data to the power bus and 24Vdc/I/O power supply.
- Electronic modules are added to the TM5 system through the insertion points on the base bus. The base bus also provides nodes for the terminal modules.
- The expansion bus is the electronic communication bus between the expansion module and the CPU.
- The controller (or "programmable logic controller", "programmable controller") is used for the automation of industrial processes.
- Digital input or output has a separate electrical connection on the electronic module, directly corresponding to the data bit of the signal on the I/O. It provides control logic for the I/O or digital value access.
- The analog input module contains a circuit that converts the analog DC input signal into a digital value operable by the processor.
- Put simply, analog input is usually direct input. This means that the data value directly reflects the analog quantity signal value.
- The analog output module contains a circuit that transmits an analog DC signal proportional to the digital input from the processor to the module. Put simply, these analog outputs are usually direct outputs. This means that the data value directly controls the analog quantity signal value.
- Source output is a wiring arrangement in which the output electronic module supplies power to the device. Source output takes + 24Vdc as a reference.
- Sink input is a wiring arrangement in which the device supplies power to the input electronic module. Sink input takes 0Vdc as a reference.
- Hot swapping is the replacement between components of the same type while the system is running. After replacing with a new component, it will automatically start running.
- In a programmable controller system, most electronic modules directly interact with machine/process sensors, actuators, and external devices. This electronic module is installed in a group in the bus base plate and is used to provide electrical connections between the controller and field devices.
- Provide electronic modules with a variety of signal levels and functions. (Some electronic modules are I/O interfaces, including power supply modules and transmitter/receiver modules.) Terminal blocks are components installed on the electronic base plate and are used to provide electrical connections between the controller and field devices.
- Encoders are devices used to measure length and angle (linear or rotary encoders).
- A network includes various interconnected devices that share a common data path and communication protocol.
- A shuttle I/O module is 5 inseparable analog and/or digital I/O electronic modules in the same reference.
- The input filter is a special function to eliminate input noise. This function can be used to minimize the input noise and jitter in limit switches. All inputs use hardware to provide a layer of input filtering. Additional filtering using software can also be easily implemented through programming or configuration software.
