- The HSU8 series surge protector: (SPD) is designed in accordance with the GB/T 18802.1 standard. Its internal core components use high - quality varistor chips (voltage - limiting type), which have strong over - voltage withstanding ability, low residual voltage, small leakage current, sensitive disconnection mechanism, fast response speed, and high safety. This series of SPDs are mainly installed at the power incoming ends of low - voltage power distribution cabinets, distribution boxes, AC distribution panels, power distribution boxes, lighting boxes, and some important equipment to protect electrical equipment from damage caused by lightning intruding through power lines and over - voltages (surges) generated by operations.
Installation Methods and Requirements
- The surge protector is installed using the standard guide rail TH35 - 7.5 type.
- The surge protector for the first - level protection should be installed as close as possible to the equipotential bonding terminal of the incoming line of the building. The surge protectors for the second - level and third - level protection should be installed as close as possible to the protected equipment.
- The leads of the surge protector connected to the main circuit should be short and straight. The sum of the lengths of the upper lead (leading to the phase wire or neutral wire) and the lower lead (leading to the ground) should be less than 0.5m.
- A current protection device should be installed on the power supply side of the surge protector.
