Series Overview
Series Overview
- INTERBUS Ruggedline modules are used in harsh environments or occasions with high requirements for system diagnosis. To ensure maximum reliability, these modules are equipped with a zinc - cast housing (IP67). Therefore, they can be directly installed next to welding fixtures.
- A Ruggedline module consists of a mounting plate and an electronic module. The electronic module is plugged onto the mounting plate and can be fixed with two screws if necessary.
- Through extended diagnosis, I/O faults can be accurately located. For example, a fault such as a sensor power supply short circuit is reported for a group of 4 inputs. And, when an output is short - circuited, the corresponding output can be directly reported. This information will be sent to the controller and displayed on the module.
- For modules connected by optical fibers, their diagnostic functions are even more powerful. The latest optical fiber technology can ensure the quality of stable transmission paths and continuously perform optimization adjustments. This information will be sent to the controller and displayed on the module. Due to these new features, the slow deterioration of the transmission path can be detected before a transmission fault occurs or the transmission is interrupted.
- If Ruggedline modules are used, the bus medium can be selected. In addition to using optical fiber connections (polymer optical fibers), some modules can also use twisted - pair cables. Using the corresponding plug - in adapter, the bus medium can be converted from optical fiber to copper cable at any time.
- The bus is connected through an IP67 plug - in connector, which transmits the bus signal and power to the module together. The preparation work is simple and easy. The power cable is connected to the plug through QUICKON quick - connection technology, and the optical fiber cable is connected through simple cutting and assembly tools; no additional polishing is required.
- If the user assembles a bus optical fiber, such as bridging two modules, the optical fiber should be at least one meter long. To establish a short - cable bridge, please use the bridge fittings provided by Phoenix Contact.
